"We build up walls to protect ourselves. To be vulnerable with others we need to feel safe enough to let these walls down to connect. This shield protects us from those we cannot trust or who hurt us. Some show a hard exterior and won't show vulnerability easily. Shutting people out because we don't feel safe. Not being vulnerable, limits connection with others. Walls keep us safe."
